Tickets go on sale for Bahrain's Formula One race

Car racing fans and rally enthusiasts rushed to buy their tickets for the Formula One racing event, taking place in Manama from April.
The race will bring some of the world's top drivers to the small Gulf arab state and American rapper Pitbull will perform a show as well.
"Today we picked up our tickets and this was our first time doing that and it was super fast and easy and they were very nice. This will be our second time attending Formula One, but this is our first time going all three days, so last year we just went one day, this time we are going the whole weekend, so we are very, very excited about that. So yeah, definitely looking forward to the shows and the race," said Kristie Rudolph, a resident in Bahrain and employee at US embassy.
The international racing event is expected to attract tens of thousands of fans and spectators from around the world to Bahrain.
In 2011 the race was interrupted by country-wide demonstrations.
Protesters blocked roads and police fired teargas as the Gulf state staged the Formula One Grand Prix, promoted by the government as pure sport, but seen then by the opposition as a public relations stunt.
Protests in the Gulf Arab country - a key Western ally - broke out in 2011, with the Shi'ite-led opposition drawing thousands of demonstrators demanding democratic reforms from the Sunni-led government.
