But first on Monday (July 28), we'll look to South Korea where teenage survivors of the tragic Sewol ferry sinking incident in April, will testify in the trial of the captain and crew in a special closed-door court session in the city of Ansan. The captain and other crew are facing a range of charges from negligence to homicide.

Elsewhere, Tuesday (July 29) we get a whole bundle of Japanese data including household spending and retail sales which are effectively a progress check on the central bank's inflation growth plans.

And in Australia, we also get new home sales, as the country's housing boom continues.

Wednesday (July 30), South Korea holds key parliamentary by-elections.

If President Park's conservative party fails to secure enough seats, it'll weaken her ability to pass her economic policy just as stimulus measures roll out.

Next door in Japan, we get quarterly earnings from JFE holdings, the parent company of the country's second biggest steel maker.

While Nippon Steel and Kobe Steel both report Thursday (July 31) and should give indications on demand both domestically and in the region.

Shifting to the smartphone sector, we can expect results from both Samsung and HTC on Thursday.

Samsung is struggling to fight off rising Chinese competition in the low and mid tier while another risk looms in Apple's long expected first large-screen handset - the as yet unannounced iPhone 6.

Finally Friday (August 1), if you weren't satisfied with the early flash private sector PMI, we get the official figure from China's government.

Watch this for an indication of just how optimistic the manufacturing sector is and to see how strong of an impact Beijing's mini-stimulus is actually having on the world's workshop.
