Shariah Compliant Housing Finance Empowers Bahraini Homeownership
Espousing a spirit of collaboration and innovation, Eskan Bank has joined forces with seven leading local banks to broaden access to Shariah-compliant housing finance under the newly enhanced Tas’heel Plus programme. Launched at the Social Housing Innovation Summit under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, this public-private partnership underscores Bahrain’s commitment to sustainable, faith-aligned financial solutions that uplift families and communities.
By inviting National Bank of Bahrain, Bahrain Islamic Bank, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Ahli United Bank, Al Baraka Islamic Bank, Al Salam Bank, and Khaleeji Bank to participate, Tas’heel Plus significantly expands the pool of institutions offering seamless, profit-and-risk-sharing home finance. Eligible citizens with steady incomes now benefit from tailored financing limits and flexible repayment structures that honor Islamic principles of fairness and social welfare.
Abdulla Taleb, General Manager of Eskan Bank, highlighted the programme as a pioneering model of Shariah-compliant partnership. He emphasized how such alliances foster innovative digital processes—from streamlined application portals to real-time eligibility assessments—while aligning with the national vision for economic diversification and social stability. By placing ethical banking at the forefront, participants reaffirm their role in advancing both citizen welfare and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
Moreover, Tas’heel Plus introduces user-friendly digital interfaces and rapid approval timelines, reflecting the shared goal of accelerating homeownership without compromising on Shariah guidelines. Participating banks will leverage advanced credit evaluation tools, ensuring that financing decisions remain transparent, equitable, and rooted in profit-and-loss sharing tenets. This synergy between technology and Islamic finance promises to strengthen community ties and drive inclusive growth across the Kingdom.
Through this collective endeavour, Eskan Bank and its partners demonstrate that sustainable development and faith-aligned financial practices can go hand-in-hand. The expanded Tas’heel Plus programme stands as a testament to Bahrain’s leadership in ethical banking, providing citizens with robust, accessible pathways to homeownership while nurturing a more prosperous, stable society.
